Cahaya (XOver region)/sandbox

From Xyrinfe XOver Wiki

Being that the region was created on 30 September 2022 by Cibryll, there are no files created for it, so this page is likely to remain mostly empty, at least until RKS decided to add several of her ideas to the mix.

Further content can be found at another sandbox. If you're looking for the main page, you probably wanna go here.

Shifting

In the Cahaya region, there exists an intriguingly unusual phenomenon, known as Shifting, believed to be linked somehow to three Legendary Pokémon here - Hacheruin, Keminkou and Tokusamge. There are also rumours that the mythical Berkihocão is related somehow.

Most Cahayan Pokémon (but not all) can, when they are fully evolved, shift towards one of two forms at random - either the Light Form, or the Dark Form. Each of these forms can have different types and even Abilities, though they keep the same Hidden Abilities.

It is possible to force a specific form upon evolution, by having the Pokémon hold either a Dawn Stone (Light Form) or Dusk Stone (Dark Form) in addition to its other evolution requirements. Unfortunately, the rarity of these stones in the Cahaya region make it a difficult task.

In the wild, a Shifted Pokémon is somewhat harder to catch than a normal Pokémon. For instance, a Great Ball is about as effective as a standard Poké Ball on a Shifted Pokémon. Researchers are still trying to figure out what the reason is, but suspect that it may have something to do with the influence of the Legendary Pokémon.

There exists a few bizarre items in Cahaya that allows a Trainer to shift the form of a Shifted Pokémon to its opposite while out of battle. These items are known as Shift Crystals (which are unlimited use, but extremely rare) and Shift Rocks (which are single-use). These crystals and rocks come from the sealed form of Berkihocão, in reality.

Not all Pokémon possess a Dark Form or a Light Form; there are even some that do not possess either. Evolving a Cahayan Pokémon in a region where the Shifting phenomenon isn't observed will also not result in a Dark or Light Form, generally resulting in a more balanced form. Because of this, these forms are also included in the above tables where possible.

While Keminkou does have a balanced form, it keeps Shifting after every turn's end. As such, its balanced form is seldom seen.

Pokémon that can be found in the Cahaya region with a Dark or Light Form are listed in the following table.
